Main Purpose of the Law

  • To regulate relations in the field of labour protection.

  • To ensure safe and healthy working conditions for employees.

  • To protect the life and health of workers at workplaces.


Key Provisions and Requirements

Employer’s Obligations

  • Establish a labour protection service in organizations with 50 or more employees.

  • Ensure compliance with labour protection standards and rules.

  • Develop and implement internal labour protection regulations and policies.

Employees’ Rights

  • Right to safe and healthy working conditions.

  • Right to receive information and training on labour protection.

  • Right to refuse work if dangerous conditions exist.

Labour Protection Services

  • Legal entities providing labour protection services may perform:

    • Certification of workplaces for working conditions,

    • Training and retraining of labour protection specialists,

    • Auditing labour protection management systems, and other services.


Control and Responsibility

  • State supervision over labour protection compliance is carried out by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  • Employers and officials bear responsibility according to legislation for violations of labour protection requirements.
