Salary

Salary (also known as wage) is the monetary compensation paid by an employer to an employee for the work performed, based on factors such as quantity, quality, complexity of work, and working conditions.

According to the Labor Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, salary includes:

  • Basic pay (tariff rate or official salary),

  • Additional payments and bonuses,

  • Incentives and rewards,

  • Compensation payments.


๐Ÿ“Š Components of a Salary:

  1. Basic Salary
    – Fixed payment for standard working hours (e.g., monthly or hourly rate).

  2. Additional Payments / Allowances
    – For overtime, night shifts, holidays, or working under harmful conditions.

  3. Bonuses and Incentives
    – For high performance, efficiency, meeting deadlines, or specific achievements.

  4. Compensations
    – For unused vacation, delays in salary payment, or termination of contract.


๐Ÿ“… Payment Frequency:

  • In Uzbekistan, wages must be paid at least twice a month, with no more than 15 calendar days between payments.

  • In case of delays, the employer is legally obligated to pay compensation for each day of delay.


๐Ÿ’ฐ Minimum Wage:

  • The minimum monthly wage is set by a Presidential Decree and may be adjusted annually.

  • It guarantees a baseline income and serves as a reference for calculating social benefits and labor contracts.

An employee works 160 hours a month at a rate of 10,000 UZS/hour. The salary will be 1,600,000 UZS.
If the employee works on a public holiday, they are entitled to double pay for those hours.
